About us

We are a group of analytically trained psychotherapists who are professionally registered and work from our own consulting rooms in various locations in West London.

What is psychotherapy?

It is a treatment which aims to help with painful and confusing feelings by understanding underlying problems which are not necessarily conscious.

Why choose psychotherapy?

Some problems respond well to quicker and easier treatments, but where a problem persists, psychotherapy may be needed because it explores deeper unconscious issues.

Who needs psychotherapy?

People with a deep sense of unhappiness or those who find their lives meaningless will often find it helpful. Specific problems like eating disorders, psychosomatic illness, post-traumatic stress, sexual difficulties, childhood abuse, and bereavement, may also be alleviated.

What does psychotherapy involve?

Individual sessions are fifty minutes long and are held at a regular time and place. Talking about what comes to mind gradually brings things to the surface. Group, family and couple sessions may be longer than fifty minutes.

How long will psychotherapy take?

After a consultation there will be an opportunity to discuss this with the therapist. Generally an open-ended arrangement is best and the ending can be mutually agreed when it feels right.

What will it cost?

Fees depend on the individual psychotherapist. Sometimes the fee may be limited by the means of the patient, especially when more than one session a week is required. For clinical as well as financial reasons missed sessions are usually paid for in full. Alternative appointments are sometimes possible.

What kind of psychotherapy?

Most people need individual psychotherapy but others may need to work in group therapy instead. Where a problem affects the whole family they may need to work with a family therapy team. Sometimes a child may need to be seen individually or partners may need to be seen together.
